The Ogden Six Theatre began showing movies nearly thirty years ago on November 5, 1976.  It was an early example of the multi-screen cinemas which were being built and operated by the American Multi Cinema Corporation of Kansas City .  Prior to this most theatres had one auditorium or at best two auditoriums with a central lobby area.  The six auditoriums featured reverse pitch seating which provided very good sight lines to the screen.  The total seat count for Ogden 6 is 1765; four large auditoriums seat between 316 and 366, while the two center auditoriums seat 200.

In November, 1996 the theatre became part of the Classic Cinemas family.  A major renovation, including a number of both decorative and functional improvements, was completed by Classic Cinemas in 2004. The lobby areas were repainted and re-carpeted to make them brighter and more inviting.  Sound systems were upgraded with Dolby Stereo Surround Sound, SDDS Digital sound and all the old speakers were replaced and surrounds were added.

The Ogden Six has an expanded show schedule and offers matinees during the week in addition to their weekend shows.  The big screens and comfortable seats have been well received by movie goers.  A popular program is the Wednesday Morning Movie Series which is presented for nine weeks during the summer every Wednesday at 10:00 AM for an admission price of only $1.
