The Movie Magic: Celebrating 86 Years of the Tivoli Theatre exhibition opened at the Downers Grove Museum on July 11. The exhibit features classic movie posters, artifacts from throughout the theatre’s history rarely available for the public to view and interactive activities that allow visitors to contribute to the exhibit.

Michelangelo will be at the Tivoli Theatre on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5 before the 12:00 p.m. & 4:45 p.m. shows. Bring your camera and take pictures with Michelangelo.

After Hours Film Society presents Violette

AHFS presents Violette directed by Martin Provost. Violette Leduc, born a bastard at the beginning of last century, meets Simone de Beauvoir in the years after the war in St-Germain-des-Prés. Baird & Warner Halloween Happening presents Casper

Baird & Warner presents their 22nd Annual Costume Contest and Free Movie on Saturday, October 25th! Registration for the costume contest is at 9:00 a.m., judging is at 9:30 a.m. and the movie starts at 11:00 a.m. Come dressed in your Halloween costume and join us for a free showing of Casper. Join us for a Halloween midnight show at the Tivoli Theatre! We will be showing The Exorcist: Director’s Cut. Shown at the Tivoli Theatre on Friday, October 31 at Midnight (Saturday, November1 at 12:01 a.m.). Admission is $5.

The West Towns Chorus will present their annual Christmas program, “Christmas by the Fireside” at the Tivoli Theatre. The chorus features The West Towns Chorus along with Chancel Bell Ringers, musicians, various other signing groups, David Rhodes on the Tivoli’s Wurlitzer Pipe Organ and much, much more!

As part of its annual Holiday Classic Film Festival, the Tivoli Theatre presents National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989), starring Chevy Chase, Beverly D’ Angelo and Randy Quaid on Thursday, December 11 at 7:00 & 9:30 p.m.

“It’s a Wonderful Life” is a portrait of an American community where compassion for others and giving of one’s self are valued. Proceeds from these two presentations are donated to the Sharing Connection Furniture Bank, a resource to provide home furnishings for neighbors in need. Donation is $5.00. Come early for holiday music by our house organist one the Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ. There will be two shows of It’s A Wonderful Life - 12/13 and 12/14 both at 1:30 p.m.
